Ecolab is the global leader in water, hygiene and energy technologies and services that specialize in treatment, purification, cleaning and hygiene of water in a wide variety of applications. The company is headquartered in St. Paul, Minnesota and operates in over 170 countries. It has a large portfolio that stretches across dozens of different industries and assists over 3 million customers worldwide.
Meghan’s investment thesis was centered around having a position that was a market leader, innovation and R&D driven, and exposure to a sector that is lacking in the portfolio. The class decided to not include Ecolab to the portfolio due to the valuation of the company not having enough potential growth to support the projected value of the stock.
