Bevin Cranley ’25 pitches TJX Companies, Inc.

posted on March 8, 2025

Bevin Cranley ‘25 pitched TJX Companies Inc. on March 3, 2025. TJX Companies is the leading off-price apparel and home fashion retailer in the US and worldwide. Through their flexible business model, including opportunistic buying, inventory management, logistics, and flexible store layouts, TJX Companies has been able to deliver customers a compelling value proposition of fashionable, quality, brand name, and designer merchandise at excellent values every day for the past 46 years. The company operates across three continents in nine different countries with more than 5,000 stores worldwide.

Bevin’s investment thesis was centered around the company being industry leader, its ability to adapt to ever-changing trends in both products and price consciousness, and historically being a high performer during times of economic uncertainty. SMIF voted to purchase approximately $50,000 worth of TJX Companies funded through the sale of XLY.
