On Tuesday, December 5th, the SMIF class had the pleasure to meet with Bucknell alumni Bobby LeBlanc. Mr. LeBlanc graduated from Bucknell in 1988. He is currently a senior managing director at Onex where he has oversight of investing activities in the Financial Services, Healthcare, Media, Technology and Telecom sectors. Prior to joining Onex, Mr. LeBlanc worked for Berkshire Hathaway for seven years after beginning his career at General Electric.
The class was eager to learn about Mr. LeBlanc’s experiences in the private equity industry. He explained the competitive landscape in the leveraged buyout space today, and what he looks for when evaluating companies to purchase. Mr. LeBlanc also emphasized the importance of valuation and compensation structures. The SMIF class thoroughly enjoyed hearing about Mr. LeBlanc’s career, and we thank him for taking the time to speak with our class!
